The University of Alaska Anchorage offers a modest program in Canadian Studies designed to fit into the UAA mission with its focus on the Pacific Rim and Circumpolar regions. The foundation for the UAA Canadian Studies Program is a two-semester, multi-disciplinary, 6 credit sequence on Canada. The first semester provides a basic overview of Canada. This course, INTL 301, fulfills a General Education Requirement in the Social Sciences.
In the second semester students are introduced to significant contemporary issues from a variety of perspectives.
UAA offers a minor in Canadian Studies. A significant number of faculty members at the university are allied with Canadian Studies. Many of their courses contain significant Canadian content.
